Our neighbors in the Los Rios District invite all to participate with them and Christian women from 140 countries around the world in prayer. We will be praying together with, rather than for, those in the world in need of prayer support.
The 2021 program was written by the World Day of Prayer women of Vanuatu. The theme is Build on a Strong Foundation based on Matthew 7:24–27.
The Los Rios Leadership Team has provided (on this page) a slideshow presentation you can use, along with a photo gallery of images from Vanuatu to bring the people and surroundings to life.
In addition, there is a short (7 minute) video on the World Day of Prayer website about Vanuatu.
Although the designated Day of Prayer is March 5, you may participate whenever you wish.
Vanuatu is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean. It was first inhabited by Melanesian people. The first Europeans were Spanish explorers in 1606. It was claimed by France and the United Kingdom in the 1880s, and became the independent Republic of Vanuatu in 1980. Its economy is based on agriculture (kava, copra, crop gardens, and more), tourism (especially scuba diving), offshore financial services, and raising cattle. More info at Wikipedia…
May God bless the women and children children of these islands to grow strong in the peace of the love that Christ teaches.
